What is pigmentation?
What is pigmentation?
- Pigmentation appears as dark patches on the skin, known also as sun spots, usually caused by UV sun damage. Another common reason for the appearance of pigmentation on the skin is ageing. Fortunately, we have the best treatment for sun spots, sun-damaged skin and hyper pigmentation – laser pigmentation removal. At Skin Innovation Clinic, we use GentleMax Pro. It is a state-of-art laser used to perform a safe and effective treatment, for fantastic results.
How does laser pigmentation removal work?
The laser targets the pigmented lesion in the skin, which absorbs the light without damaging the surrounding area. The laser reduces or eliminates the appearance of unwanted pigmentation, using its light energy. The heat breaks down the pigment into smaller particles, later recognised by the body as a waste. The pigment is then drawn to the surface, without harming the surrounding tissue.
Once drawn to the surface, the lesion will begin to fade away, leaving a more even skin texture and tone.
