Banish Acne Scars, Fine Lines and Wrinkles with SkinPen
Fight your facial acne scars with Microneedling but in pen form…
This skin procedure comes in many forms, from rollers to mechanical microneedling devices. However, one thing they have in common is that they all involve using tiny needles to create superficial injuries in the top layers of the skin and trigger collagen production.
These tiny needles targets skin texture and minimising the appearance of pores, fine lines, pigmentation and acne scars over a course of treatments.
How do I know it’s safe?
SkinPen is known as the gold standard of safe and effective microneedling in the industry.
Essentially the device looks as it sounds, a mechanical ‘pen’ that has 14 tiny needles on the end that repeatedly enter the skin at a depth of 0.25-2.5mm.
FACT: The SkinPen was the first ever FDA cleared microneedling device, as is SkinPen’s use at Chelsea & Westminster hospital for burns scarring. Definitely re-assuring.
What is the process?
The SkinPen causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage.
The three phases to the wound-repair process:
● Phase I: Inflammation. Piercing the skin triggers your immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue ( Your skin often will look bruised)
● Phase II: Proliferation. The wound is rebuilt with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.
● Phase III: Remodelling. The wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels.
